IAN UGARTE
Ian Ugarte is the founder of the Australian Housing Initiative. He is an entrepreneur, educator, author, property investor, and affordable housing advocate.
As a Micro Housing specialist, Ian is committed to overcoming unaffordable housing and the loss of community in Australia. He works with State and Local Governments around Australia to dramatically improve accommodation availability; support vulnerable elements of our community; and improve the sense of belonging in Australia’s Regional and Capital towns and cities.
By better utilising the space in our homes and enabling multiple people (or family units) to share a dwelling, we can unlock a range of inspiring possibilities. People of all ages can embrace living in smaller spaces and shared accommodation.
Not only are these properties more accessible and affordable, but they also bring a sense of community and security that otherwise would not be present. It enables people to remain in their local community no matter their personal circumstances.Ian Ugarte
